At CloudNine, the health and well-being of our Ragdoll cats is one of our highest priorities. Responsible breeding begins with carefully selecting breeding cats that not only exemplify the wonderful temperament and characteristics of the Ragdoll breed, but also meets strict health requirements.

Comprehensive health testing plays an important role in our breeding journey and helps us make informed decisions that support the long-term health and welfare of our cats and their kittens' all of our breeding cats undergo appropriate health screening and are DNA tested clear for known Ragdoll-specific genetic conditions, including Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCMrd), Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) and Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency (PKDef)

In addition, all of our breeding cats are blood typed and have been identified as Feline Blood Type A. They are also routinely tested and monitored to ensure they remain negative for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukaemia Virus (FeLV).

Regular veterinary health assessments further support our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of health and care.

We believe transparency is an important part of responsible breeding. For this reason, copies of our health testing certificates are available for prospective families to view, providing reassurance and confidence in the health screening undertaken within our breeding journey.
