Choosing a breeder is one of the most important decisions you'll make when welcoming a new kitten into your family. At CloudNine, we believe responsible breeding is about far more than producing beautiful kittens — it is a lifelong commitment to the health, welfare and future of every cat we raise.
As a small, ethical, home-based TICA-Registered breeder, we are dedicated to preserving the exceptional temperament, beauty and gentle nature that has made the Ragdoll one of the world's most cherished cat breeds.
Every aspect of our breeding programme is carefully considered, from selecting healthy breeding cats with outstanding bloodlines to providing our kittens with the very best start in life through exceptional care, early socialisation and a nurturing family environment.
We don't measure success by the number of litters we produce, but by the happiness, health and lifelong wellbeing of the cats we bring into the world and the families who welcome them into their homes.
Our breeding programme is built upon responsibility, transparency and a genuine love for the Ragdoll breed. We produce only a small number of carefully planned litters each year, allowing every queen and every kitten to receive the individual care, attention and support they deserve. Every mating is thoughtfully planned with health, temperament, breed type and the long-term preservation of the breed at the heart of every decision.
The health and well-being of our cats and kittens is one of our highest priorities.
Our breeding cats undergo comprehensive health testing appropriate for the Ragdoll breed, including DNA testing for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCMrd), Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) and Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency (PKDef). In addition, all of our breeding cats are feline blood typed (Type A) before entering our breeding programme, routinely tested negative for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukaemia Virus (FeLV), and receive regular veterinary health examinations.
We believe responsible health testing is one of the most important foundations of ethical breeding.
Every CloudNine kitten is raised within our family home where they experience everyday household life from the very beginning.
Through daily handling, positive experiences and careful socialisation, our kittens develop into confident, affectionate and well-adjusted companions that transition happily into family life.
Our breeding cats come from carefully selected Champion and Grand Champion Bloodlines, chosen not only for their beauty but also for their exceptional temperament, health and breed type.
Every pairing is planned with the future of the breed in mind, helping to preserve the characteristics that make the Ragdoll such an extraordinary companion.
Our relationship with our families doesn't end when a kitten leaves for their new home.
We are always happy to offer advice, guidance and ongoing support throughout your Ragdoll's lifetime. Watching our kittens grow into much-loved members of their families is one of the most rewarding parts of responsible breeding, and we love receiving updates as they grow.
When you welcome a CloudNine Ragdoll into your home, you become part of the CloudNine family.
Yes, every CloudNine Ragdoll Kitten is registered with The International Cat Association (TICA) and dis accompanied by a Certified Pedigree Certificate, providing a fully traceable pedigree and reassurance that your kitten comes from carefully selected bloodlines.
We believe kittens benefit greatly from remaining with their mother and litter-mates until a minimum of 13 weeks of age. This allows them to complete their veterinary care, continue their social and behavioural development, and leave us as confident, healthy and well-adjusted companions.
